My grandfather is German Artist Christian Schad and my grandmother is Marcella Arcangeli (protrait/drawing), eminent primarily in Europe which is unfortunate although his Schadographs are exhibited at MOMA. Collections in the Tate, London along with the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin. I'm elated that technology is increasing his exposure here in the US, his 1st Retrospective was held in NY at the Neue Galerie, 2003. Linked with the DADA movement, German Expressionism and New Objectivity. I'm named after my late father Nikolaus, Christine after my grandfather. To the point, you would assume I was raised in wealth, to the contrary I was raised in poverty. My father divorced my mother when I was an infant in St Louis, MO, left for Passau, Germany, chose not to be involved as a parent. My mother received very little in child support, struggled as a Secretary to make ends meet. She drove a rusty old Buick Electria, we lived in an apartment in a upper middle class neighborhood. As a shy/sensitive and introverted child, I was bullied in public school. My education was cut short. I had underline Anxiey symptoms which escalated into acute GAD after removing my mother from life support, I take medication to lesson the symptoms. My artistic skill, in my view is still in its "infancy" subject to debate. I'm "self taught". All I can say is I used to draw as a child and I'm very passionate about photography. I face adversity every day, art is my salvation, mere words can't do it justice.
